This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on talkwisely.io, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. We keep our cookie use to a minimum — no advertising, no retargeting, no cross-site tracking.
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site's owners. Cookies typically contain a small amount of data, such as a unique identifier and the name of the site that set them, and may be stored for the duration of a single visit (session cookies) or across multiple visits (persistent cookies).
This policy also covers similar technologies that perform comparable functions, such as your browser's local storage and session storage. Talkwisely uses local storage to remember your cookie consent preference under the key tw-cookie-consent, so you are not asked again on every visit.

Talkwisely uses a deliberately small set of cookies and storage keys. We do not use advertising, retargeting, social media or cross-site tracking cookies on talkwisely.io. The full list of what we set is below.
Session and authentication cookies — set by the Talkwisely platform when you sign in to your workspace or customer dashboard. These are strictly necessary to keep you securely logged in, maintain your session, and protect against cross-site request forgery. They are first-party cookies issued by talkwisely.io and typically expire when you log out or your session ends.
tw-cookie-consent — a key stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie in the strict sense). It records whether you have accepted or declined analytics cookies so we do not show the consent banner on every visit. This entry is essential to the operation of our consent mechanism and persists until you clear it manually or clear your browser site data.
_ga — set by Google Analytics 4 to distinguish unique visitors. Duration: 2 years. First-party cookie scoped to talkwisely.io.
_ga_<container-id> — set by Google Analytics 4 to persist session state for our specific GA4 property. Duration: 2 years. First-party cookie scoped to talkwisely.io.
_gid — set by Google Analytics to distinguish users within a 24-hour window. Duration: 24 hours. First-party cookie scoped to talkwisely.io.
These cookies are only set after you click 'Accept' on the consent banner. If you decline, or if you have never interacted with the banner, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and none of these cookies are written to your browser.
Talkwisely does not embed third-party advertising networks, social media widgets that set tracking cookies, or marketing pixels on talkwisely.io. The only third-party service that may set cookies on our marketing website is Google Analytics 4, and only with your explicit consent (described in section 2.2).
If you sign in to the Talkwisely product and interact with integrations you have configured (for example, our CRM connectors), those integrations operate within the authenticated product environment and are governed by our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement rather than this Cookie Policy.
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes only:
To keep you signed in to your Talkwisely account, maintain your session securely, and remember your cookie consent preference. These uses are essential and rely on the cookies and storage keys listed in section 2.1.
To understand, in aggregate and anonymised form, how visitors discover and use our marketing website — for example, which pages are most read, how long people spend on the site, and which referrers send the most traffic. This helps us improve content, navigation and performance.
We do not use cookies for advertising, profiling, behavioural targeting, or for sharing your data with advertising networks.
When you visit talkwisely.io for the first time, a cookie consent banner appears asking whether you accept analytics cookies. You are in full control of this choice.
Clicking 'Accept' loads the Google Analytics 4 script and allows the _ga, _ga_<container-id> and _gid cookies described in section 2.2 to be set. Your choice is saved to your browser's local storage under the key tw-cookie-consent so you are not asked again on subsequent visits from the same browser.
Clicking 'Decline' (or closing the banner without accepting) prevents the Google Analytics script from loading entirely. No _ga, _ga_<container-id> or _gid cookies are written, and no analytics events are sent. Your choice is saved to tw-cookie-consent so you are not prompted again.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time. The simplest way is to remove the tw-cookie-consent entry from your browser's local storage (Developer Tools → Application → Local Storage → talkwisely.io → delete the tw-cookie-consent key). Alternatively, you can clear all cookies and site data for talkwisely.io through your browser settings. On your next visit the consent banner will reappear and you can make a fresh choice.
If you previously accepted and now wish to revoke consent, you should also delete the _ga, _ga_<container-id> and _gid cookies via your browser's site data settings to remove any identifiers already stored.
Most modern browsers let you view, manage, block and delete cookies on a per-site or global basis. The exact steps differ slightly between browsers, but as a general guide:
Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies (or Cookies and other site data) → See all site data and permissions. Search for talkwisely.io to view or delete cookies stored for our site.
Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data. Search for talkwisely.io to remove cookies and site data, or use Clear Data to remove everything.
Settings (or Preferences) → Privacy → Manage Website Data. Search for talkwisely.io and click Remove. You can also enable 'Block all cookies' globally, though this will prevent most websites from working properly.
Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data → See all cookies and site data. Search for talkwisely.io to view or delete entries.
Blocking all cookies, including essential ones, will affect functionality — you will not be able to stay signed in to the Talkwisely product, your consent preference will not be remembered, and some features may not work as expected. For most users, accepting essential cookies while choosing whether to allow analytics gives the best balance of privacy and usability.
Some browsers offer a 'Do Not Track' (DNT) setting that sends a signal to websites asking them not to track your activity. While there is no universally agreed standard for how websites should respond to DNT, Talkwisely respects it.
When our website detects a DNT signal from your browser, we do not load Google Analytics, and the analytics cookies described in section 2.2 are not set — regardless of any consent preference previously saved in tw-cookie-consent. Essential cookies (section 2.1) continue to function because they are required for the site to work.
If you would like to enable DNT, look for 'Do Not Track', 'Tell sites not to track me' or 'Send a Global Privacy Control signal' in your browser's privacy settings.
When you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects a limited set of anonymised data on our behalf, including: pages visited, time spent on each page, session duration, device type and operating system, browser type, referring website, and approximate geographic location (typically at city or country level).
We have enabled IP anonymisation in our GA4 configuration, which means your IP address is truncated by Google before it is stored. We do not configure GA4 to collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address or precise location.
Data collected via Google Analytics is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted from GA4. Aggregated and de-identified reports derived from this data may be retained longer for trend analysis.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across every website that uses it by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript from sharing visit information with Google.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, changes in technology, or changes in applicable law. The effective date at the top of this policy will always show when it was last updated.
If we make material changes — for example, introducing a new category of cookies or a new analytics provider — we will notify you by re-displaying the cookie consent banner so you can review and reconfirm your preferences. Continued use of talkwisely.io after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy in respect of essential cookies.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy (/legal/privacy), which describes how we handle personal data more broadly, our Terms of Service (/legal/terms), and — for business customers — our Data Processing Agreement (/legal/dpa).
